IntroNet Go The Extra Mile (26 to be Exact) for C.H.A.S.

June 16, 2004 -- Staff at IntroNet, a world leading innovator of web-based eHR solutions, joined forces and donned their running gear on Sunday, 13th of June, in an attempt to raise money for the charity CHAS (Children's Hospice Association Scotland) by taking part in the Syntegra Edinburgh Marathon Relay.

Eight members of staff from various departments within the organisation split into two relay teams, trained and prepared themselves for the 26 mile race and raised over £700 for their efforts. They were not without their injuries from back to knee problems but bravely battled on.

The group have been in training since January working to a strict training regime prepared by experienced runner Susana Gonzalez Sanchez. Everyone was in jubilant mood after successfully completing yesterday’s marathon, IntroNet’s Colm Doyle stated, “The hard work, blisters, cramps and muscle aches seem worthwhile now.”

The runners included Colm Doyle, Graeme Trotter, Paul Shand, Nicola Shields, Emma Berry, Caroline Von Schmalense, Chris Nicholson, and Paul Regnart.

The big-hearted runners chose CHAS as it is a Scottish based charity close to their hearts.

Kerry Jackson, Marathon Co-ordinator at CHAS said: “We’re really proud of everyone at Intronet for their magnificent efforts! Their hard work will help to fund our services at Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House in Balloch; making a real difference to children and their families from across Scotland who sadly need the services of our children’s hospices.”
