28 March, 2001 - SAN DIEGO, CA – Carb-BOOM, Inc, the leading producer of carbohydrate gels made with real fruit, announced today that it has been selected as the Official Energy Gel of the 2001 Suzuki Rock-N-Roll Marathon and the 2001 Country Music Marathon.

The Suzuki Rock-N-Roll Marathon, in its fourth year of existence, will attract an estimated 20,000 participants to San Diego for the June 3rd event. The race features more than 40 live music bands on the course, which will entertain runners throughout the 26.2 mile distance. Entrants are expected to come from all 50 U.S. states and more than 30 different countries.

The second annual Country Music Marathon, to be held in Nashville, Tennessee on April 28, 2001, expects as many as 10,000 runners to toe the line. Like the Suzuki Rock-N-Roll Marathon, the Country Music Marathon features more than 40 live music bands on the course and will culminate with a concert on Saturday evening featuring Martina McBride and Sons of the Desert.
